our buddy dent came up from jackson, mississippi to strum on his tiny guitar at a candy store in brooklyn! he was wearing these round, clear framed glasses that were fucking amazing. very elton john. dent's jens lekmanesque band was wildly entertaining and a few sing-a-longs did entail.
so, the last time i was at the armory on 67th and lex i was wearing a gas mask standing next to sigourney weaver and tom ford watching a motorcycle gang from the bronx peeling out on 288 pieces of plywood that we had painted an array of day-glo hues just the week before. this time i went to the armory i was surrounded by 300 sweaty kids all coming down from e at the tail end of a 96 hour dance party. i was drunk, so it wasnt that annoying. but it did still feel like a freshmen mixer. the four day dance marathon was agathe snow's piece for the whitney biennial entitled stamina gloria et patria. the party was supposed to shake, rattle & roll until 11 am, but got shut down around six because some pegleg hooligans started a fight. but i have to say, it was totally worth watching yvonne force villareal flipping her shit and screaming at everyone to get out. my only qualm with stamina is that agathe basically did the exact same performace three years ago in miami, minus 72 hours. she also did a piece called daily dance for the survivor show at bortolami dayan a couple years ago. for daily dance, agathe showed up the to space, which happened to be in the empty lot underneath the high line adjacent to the gallery, and danced for an hour with her boom box. agathe's a crazy dancer, so i can't help kind of loving all this shit. but it really just makes me want to by one of those shirts that say "fuck art let's dance"

billy moved back to california a few weeks ago. were pissed and miss him and mackerel jack a lot.
i used to have to find grape flavored fruit roll-ups on scavenger hunts. apparently "adult" scavenger hunts entail shotguning beers with hot blondes. happy birthday ali, thank you seth
